Here's how to prepare Jamaican Bammy – crispy or soft
Bammy is a traditional flatbread made from cassava that can be prepared in many ways – whether crisply fried, steamed, grilled, or baked. Here we show you different ways to enjoy bammy!
Ingredients:

4 Jamaican Bammy (IslandtoDoor)

Milk, water or coconut milk for soaking

2 tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil for frying
Preparation:

Cut the bammy in half.

Soak the pieces in milk, water or coconut milk for about 1-5 minutes.
Option 1: Roast
- Heat a pan with butter or oil over medium heat.
- Fry the bammy on each side for about 3-4 minutes until it is golden brown and crispy.
Option 2: Steaming
- Steam Bammy for about 10 minutes in a steamer or over boiling water.
Option 3: Barbecue
- Roast the Bammy directly on the grill for about 5 minutes per side, until it develops a light roasted aroma.
Option 4: Baking
- Bake Bammy in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes, until the outside is slightly crispy.
